  • I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I'm human. I've been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help.

I often felt confused and invisible as a child. As a teen and young adult, I spent a lot of time exploring who I was and how to deal with life's hardships. I know what it's like to struggle and I want to help others feel heard and to help others recognize their own ability to find joy and peace in life.

My life experiences are what lead me to become the counselor I am today.

  • Being a counselor is an honor. I love helping people become healthier and empowered people to live more fulfilling lives. I consider it an honor to meet people, hear their story, and be a part of their journey. The most rewarding thing about being a counselor is encouraging others to recognize their own strengths and unique gifts.

I am committed to guiding you to where things feel manageable again.

  • I have a genuine interest in others and bring warmth and understanding to sessions.

I have a natural ability to:

    • Understand people's experiences

    • Help people identify what they are feeling

    • Help people feel comfortable

    • Collaborate with people to set goals and help them reach them

People who know me often say that I am a good listener who can help people feel heard and understood, which helps people feel seen and start to heal.

  • Sessions will provide you with the space to feel what you need to feel. In feeling safe and comfortable, you'll be able to gain clarity and express your thoughts and feelings.

It's important to me to ensure that the process is collaborative. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to Counseling. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.

  • • I believe that you deserve to feel better

    • I believe that transformation can happen when you ask for help

    • I believe that emotions heal when they are witnessed and validated

    • I believe that therapy works when both of us are committed to your healing

  • I received a master’s in counseling from the University of North Texas, where I studied play therapy, family counseling, and child and adolescent counseling. I draw from my experience in residential treatment, domestic violence, oncology, adoption/foster care, and a local children's hospital. I hold a license as a professional counselor in Texas and a license as a mental health counselor in Washington State. Additionally, I am a registered play therapist, a licensed counseling supervisor, and a counseling adjunct professor.

  • Wondering what all those letters are behind my name? They are just an alphabet soup that describes my credentials.

    M.Ed. - Master’s in Education
LPC-S - Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in the state of Texas
LMHC- Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington
RPT-S - Registered Play Therapist - Supervisor (an extra credential that indicates I have met the criteria to specialize in counseling young children.
